Brain Exercises

We tend to focus a lot on exercising our bodies with little thought of our brains. I thought it would be fun to discover the different ways we can exercise our brains. Now, what can we do to keep our brains in shape? A number of things; but my favorite is Brain Games.

Brain games are games that challenge specific cognitive skills that exercise your memory, logic, attention span, and quick thinking abilities. As we get older, it is important to train our brains in order to maintain quick thinking and quick reflexes.

Studies show that games that train your brain can make a significant impact on your cognitive function. Games that involve logic, analytical thinking, and cleverness, can cause your brain to improve its performance. Also, memory games can improve your recall functions. So when you improve your cognitive functions, it helps your brain to stay ‘young’.

Although brain games are effective in keeping the mind sharp, we will explore other steps that are just as effective and will also benefit the whole body.

Break the monotony – Try new things; challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone. Spontaneity is a great way to mix things up and jump-start your brain.

Take Stress Head On – It is important to deal with stress promptly, rather than prolonging the matter. We know that stress can create a lot of health issues including the memory function of the brain.

Nutrition and Exercise Like the body, the brain also benefits from proper nutrition and exercise. Omega 3 Fatty Acids have many health benefits including mood and memory enhancement. So be sure to include foods like fish and salmon in your diet. Eating healthy along with exercise in your daily activity keeps the whole body functioning properly.
