So, please keep in mind, at Brainfood Academy, because we are a private institution, our guidelines are not as strict as other schools. Also, should you decide to leave our Academy at any time, all the requirements you need to attend any public school in the US will be provided.
Vaccines and Immunizations
Your guide to getting started with Brainfood Academy includes providing requirements on Vaccines and Immunizations.
As you well know, in all public schools, you are required to have updated vaccination and immunization records. Most private schools also uphold this requirement. However, because we are an online institution, this requirement is not necessary. Keep in mind, that if you choose to leave our Academy and return to a public school, you will be required to show updated immunization and vaccination records.
On the other hand, there are exemptions to this requirement in most states. The link below provides the exemptions for not providing immunization and vaccination records. All are listed here at this site.
Kindergarten Requirement
Did you know that kindergarten is not a required class in most states? This requirement is driven by government regulations. However, due to Education Reform, financial status, and working parents, it is mandatory that every state offer kindergarten classes for every district. Even though it isn’t mandatory, if you choose not to send your child to kindergarten, they have to take an academic status test to enroll in first grade.
So all public schools must offer kindergarten, but it is your choice whether your child attends or not (in most states).
States that require Kindergarten
As I stated earlier, government regulation allows individual states to set school structure. So, some states chose to make Kindergarten a mandatory requirement.
Below is a list of all the states that require Kindergarten for academic completion:
- Arkansas,
