Holidays and Fine Wine

When I paint a picture of the holidays, great food and family come to mind. It doesn’t get any better than that……except for wine. Having a nice glass of wine with a well-prepared meal only enhances an already perfect time with family and friends. Holidays and Fine Wine go hand in hand.

The best thing about the holidays, to me, is the preparation. It is so rewarding to plan and prepare a wonderful meal together with family and friends. Everything so welcoming and nice is what it’s all about; coming together to break bread and enjoy each other’s company.

Tradition vs. Something New

Most of us try to keep with tradition when it comes to the holidays. We want our traditions to live on for many generations. We love to see our children experience the same wonderful memories we shared when we were their age. It also keeps the memories of loved ones who have passed on, alive. Even though it is good to keep the tradition alive, there is nothing wrong with adding something new to the tradition. The same with wine. It is okay to experiment with wines. Try your hand at pairing different wines with your traditional meal. This will be a great tradition to start with your family if you’re not doing it already.

Adding something new does not have to take away from the tradition, it just enhances the tradition, to keep up with the times. Like putting your spin on old recipes, or adding something new to the menu. So if you are worried about spoiling your traditions by adding something new, don’t be. It’s a good thing. I’m sure our ancestors did the same thing. The important thing is to keep gathering as a family.

Making wonderful memories with family and friends during the holidays is the key component of what keeps traditions alive.

Sharing In The Holidays And Fine Wine

Sharing new ideas with your family is a great way to start new traditions. Starting new traditions will only add to the old ones and this will not only keep your traditions alive but will definitely keep the family gathering. Holidays and fine wine….it doesn’t get any better than that.
